MAMODIS - "MAss MOvement Detection and Identification System"

Automatic Detection and Identification of Alpine Mass Movements
based on a Combination of Infrasound and Seismic Signals

Schüsserbach

The Schüsserbach is located in the south-east of the Ennstaler Alpen close to the village Radmer (Styria). The catchment area of 0.7 km² extends from the summit "Lugauer" at 2217 m a.s.l down to 790 m a.s.l. where it joins the Radmerbach (Figure 1). The torrent has been equipped with the detection system in August 2013. In the first years a MK-224 infrasound microphone was used and a SG-5 geophone was installed. The MK-224 has been replaced by an Electret-microphone for the season 2017, which was the last year of operation. Beside this detection system a warning system of the company SOMMER is still installed at this site, which detects debris flows based on flow height (radar sensor) and a geophone.
